I come from a Hindu Brahmin family of scholars and academicians. I was
always taught that all roads lead to one God, who is called by different
names. When I decided to get married to a Christian man, the news was not
very well received by my family, but eventually they got us married. At the
time of our wedding I told myself that I was going to practice my religion
after marriage and when we have kids they can learn both and choose for
themselves. But God’s plans for our lives was much bigger and higher than
our little human minds can fathom.
In 1996 we moved to Boston and started attending International Church of God. I started going to the evening bible study taught by our dear Pastor Joseph Simon. My intention at that time was just to understand why Jesus and not the other Gods like I had been taught. It is written that Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10.17) What I had not realized was that there was slow transformation in my heart and I took water Baptism in September of 1998. Since then I have tasted and continue to feast on the goodness of our Lord. I have been blessed to be part of International Church of God. Our dear Pastor has been my spiritual father, mentor and my family here in Boston.
