I was a traditional Christian until about 20 years ago. It was my wife Gracy who first accepted our Lord as her personal Savior. That was a great shock to me, for my pride in the traditions was greatly wounded. I was baptized when I was an infant and I believed that made me a good Christian. At that time I was a hopeless alcoholic, I drank day and night and had lost all my sense of bearing. My wife continued to pray and believe in the Lord for my salvation. On January 16, 1985, our gracious Lord called me and I heeded his call. To the confusion and consternation of my siblings, I decided to take water baptism, and I decided to take water baptism, and did so secretly.
In December 1990 my wife and I came to Boston. Four months later I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Doctors suggested removal of the bladder and a date was fixed for the surgery. A test prior to the surgery revealed that the cancer had spread to my liver, and at that time, all attempts at surgery was abandoned as useless, and I was given a certain time-span to live. At that time, my wife had a vision in which she was given the promise that God is able to heal any disease. She trusted the Lord with my life and began to pray. We started to attend the all-night prayer on Fridays at International Church of God and fervently remained in his presence.
The Lord completely delivered me from cancer. My doctors were totally puzzled at not finding any trace of cancer revealed in any of the tests they performed on me on the 28th March, 1992. Later, one of the doctors called me home to say how blessed I was. I stand as a living testimony to the healing powers of our Lord. He healed not only during this time, but he is able to heal forever. 1 Peter 2:24, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
