Spartan Truck is seeking an Auto Electrician to perform electrical diagnostics, repairs, and installations on refuse vehicles and related equipment. This role involves troubleshooting electrical systems, installing components such as power take-offs (PTOs) on transmissions, and ensuring all electrical functions operate efficiently and safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Install, diagnose, and repair electrical components in refuse vehicles, including wiring, fuses, relays, and control systems.
  2. Perform installations of Power Take-Offs (PTOs) on transmissions, ensuring proper integration with vehicle systems.
  3. Inspect and troubleshoot electrical faults, including short circuits, faulty connections, and battery-related issues.
  4. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to diagnose and repair issues efficiently.
  5. Maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance with electrical regulations.
  6. Ensure all installations and repairs meet quality standards and operational efficiency requirements.

Competency :

Two (2) years of experience as an auto electrician or in a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including fuses, relays, wiring, and battery systems.
  • Experience with PTO installations on transmissions.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Committed to maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Working Conditions:
This is an Exempt level position working in a Manufacturing environment. Exposure to paint and other paint related products on a continuous basis. Proper safety equipment will be provided.
