Reports To: Production Supervisor/Assembly Line Manager
Job Summary: The Base Assembler is responsible for assembling the foundational components of furniture, including the frames, legs, and bases, using various tools and techniques to ensure that the furniture meets quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
Key Responsibilities: - Assemble furniture bases according to detailed work orders and blueprints, ensuring all parts are correctly aligned and secured.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to complete the assembly of base components.
- Inspect parts and materials for defects or damage before use, ensuring the quality and integrity of the assembly.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of assembled bases and components.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and maintain efficient workflow.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed, as required.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding materials, processes, or equipment to the supervisor.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, including safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Skills and Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience in furniture assembly or a similar manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, such as drills, screwdrivers, and saws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet quality standards.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, move, and position materials weighing up to [50 lbs].
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety procedures.
Work Environment: - The work environment is a factory or workshop setting with exposure to machinery and tools.
- Safety equipment, such as goggles, gloves, and ear protection, must be worn at all times.
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and materials as required.
- Ability to bend, reach, and work in a variety of positions during assembly tasks.
