Welcome to Café Serano, we are a family run café and are looking for an active and efficient Café Manager to join our team who share our passion for specialty coffee and commitment to the highest standards of customer service. This role primarily consists of maintaining and managing the cafe operations. 

The responsibilities of a café manager include, but are not limited to, working closely in a supervisory role with staff members, overseeing scheduling, monitoring productivity, and providing feedback to ensure that staff are providing the best experience possible to customers. Additionally, a café manager must monitor budgets, including expenses, sales, and profit margins. They also track and maintain inventory to ensure that supplies are available as needed. 

A successful café manager will have experience working in various roles within a coffee shop and be available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays. The goal of the café manager is to increase the profit margins of their coffee shop and to establish a loyal customer base to make the café a local hotspot for the community.

Our goal is to hire a manager with extensive experience within the café industry who will be responsible for daily operations of our coffee shop. An ideal candidate will have acquired both management and leadership skills and will be able to ensure that all duties within the café are executed with customer service in mind. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Managing day-to-day operations of the cafe

· Hiring and onboarding new wait staff and baristas

· Serving customers during peak hours of service to help your front-line staff

· Training employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment

· Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed (like takeaway cups, coffee, milk, and other ingredients)

· Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences (for example vegan coffee drinks)

· Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service

· Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy

· Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation

· Receiving delivered café supplies and verifying that the correct items and quantities have been delivered.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Proven management experience in the hospitality industry including Barista experience in a café setting.

· Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines

· Good math skills

· Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends and holidays)

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team

· Customer service attitude

· Basic knowledge of handheld restaurant POS systems

· High school diploma

· Additional certification (e.g., in Business Administration or Hospitality) is a plus
