Chief Compliance Officer

The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for leading and overseeing Boyd Gaming Corporation's enterprise-wide compliance program across all jurisdictions in which the company operates. This executive role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local gaming regulations, including BSA/AML Title 31, and manages the submission and approval of internal control systems and gaming technologies. The CCO plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of Boyd Gaming's operations and reputation, while fostering a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and execution of Boyd Gaming's compliance and legal risk strategy across all properties and jurisdictions.
  • Overseeing compliance with Gaming Control Board regulations, BSA/AML Title 31, and hospitality industry standards.
  • Managing the submission and approval of internal control systems, gaming equipment, and technology platforms with regulatory bodies.
  • Serving as the primary liaison with state and federal gaming commissions, ensuring timely and accurate legal filings.
  • Collaborating with internal and external legal counsel on regulatory matters, investigations, and litigation risk.
  • Monitoring and interpreting changes in gaming laws, hospitality regulations, and corporate governance requirements, ensuring proactive compliance.
  • Leading internal audits and investigations related to regulatory breaches or legal concerns.
  • Providing legal guidance on contracts, licensing, acquisitions, and operational compliance.
  • Developing and delivering training programs on legal and regulatory compliance for property-level leadership and staff.

Qualifications include:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or advanced legal degree preferred; Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or Accounting required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in gaming law, regulatory compliance, or corporate legal affairs, with multi-jurisdictional exposure.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE, CIA, or CISA are highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of casino operations, hospitality law, and regulatory frameworks across U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal and compliance issues in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
  • Strong legal acumen with the ability to interpret and apply gaming and hospitality laws effectively.
  • Experience working with regulators, law enforcement, and legal teams in high-profile compliance matters.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
