Suburban Chimney Solutions is expanding! We are looking for a new, long-term chimney repair apprentice to join our team and grow with us. This position requires the individual to have effective communication skills, be energetic, comfortable with ladders/ scaffolding, roofs, and no fear of heights. Masonry experience is not required but is a plus. Attention to detail is a must. We focus on providing quality work, job-site safety, and assuring that every job site is left clean.
Job Description: 2022 Season - Spring, Summer, Fall.
As a chimney repair apprentice you will be responsible for learning how to rebuild and repair masonry chimneys, installing crowns with an overhang, learn how to build forms from wood, installing chimney liners, and much more.
Job Duties:
Setup and climb ladders and/or staging to access the roof. Be proficient in setting up and taking down scaffolding safely on the ground/ roof.
Install chimney caps, liners, top mounting dampers, masonry repairs, and rebuilds of the chimney's exterior/interior, tuckpointing.
Parge and repair smoke chambers: reach up inside damper area to smoke chamber, apply high-temp mortar to walls of the smoke chamber. May require standing, squatting, or sitting inside the fireplace to access interior of smoke chamber.
Clean out trucks daily and keep tools in order, clean.
Requirements:
Must have good leadership skills and be willing to learn, teamwork, good communication and customer service skills, flexibility, and use initiative, cleanliness, and personable. It will be required to wear a safety harness while on the roof or scaffolding and must wear a hard hat while on the ground for safety.
Have a valid driver's license.
Some overhead lifting is required.
We require all employees to arrive at work, on time, presentable, and ready to put forth their best efforts each day.
Must have reliable transportation to company office/garage space each day in Inver Grove Heights.

Schedule:
8-10 hour shifts
Day shift
Monday - Friday - Saturdays Optional
High school or equivalent (preferred) but not required.
Experience: No experience required.
Will train the right individual.
Valid Driver's License (Required)
Work Location: Twin Cities & local surrounding areas.
W2 ( payroll ) position.
