Summary: The Denver Post, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a Class C Driver to join the team! Class C Drivers haul loads of palletized bulk printed materials to our Metro Denver Circulation Centers. All shifts are on a Night side schedule. Our Production Facility Operates 365 days per year, including Holidays. You must be available for 40 hours per week, working 5 days consecutively. Overtime is an available option on occasion, but not required.
What you will do: - Responsible for efficient and accurate delivery of bulk newspaper/printed material and supplements in the Denver Metro area
- Drive a 24 ft. box truck, requiring a regular Colorado Driver's License
- Break down and sort Load for shipping to multiple Circulation distribution centers
- Responsible for efficient and accurate delivery of the newspaper and supplements as manifested
- Break down and sort polybags and supplies as needed to ship to various statewide customer distribution centers
- Check Load, including all supplements for accurate count on every truck load
- Retrieve and return empty pallets and any recycle / returned newsprint from previous editions
- Respond to circulation staffing inquiries
- Practices defensive driving skills and maintains a safe-driving record
What you will bring: - Ability to work with a variety of people
- Have a valid Colorado drivers license
- Demonstrate sensitivity to customer satisfaction
- Basic math aptitude, communication and organization skills
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and a lift gate on a box truck
- High school diploma or equivalent
The hourly wage is $20.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
