Job Description

Overview Job Summary: Create and edit machine programs used to support automated machining centers. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Program 3-5 axis CNC machining centers from engineering drawings and models. Ensure all programs and models are up to date. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products. Provide accurate time and material estimates to production management. Work with designers and engineers to resolve print/part issues and exchange technical information. Ability to understand and follow the Engineering Change Order process. Build and design fixtures for work holding as required. Create setup sheets, work instructions, and provide support to CNC operators. Maintain levels of program traceability. Use various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage). Strive to improve manufacturing operational processes. Train entry-level CNC machinists. Other duties as assigned. Additional Job Requirements Maintain a safe and clean workspace. Follow established safety rules and regulations. Regular scheduled attendance. Subject to applicable laws and Air Methods’ policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 or more years' experience working with CNC Machining and/or training; 3 or more years of programming or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to produce parts utilizing manual mills and lathes. Ability to modify and create programs using Mastercam. Able to interpret and edit CNC programs at the machine. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job traveler specifications to determine the proper tooling required to set up each operation. Knowledge of machining the following materials: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and assorted plastics. Skills General math skills. Basic familiarity with the use of hand tools. Knowledge of machines in a manufacturing environment. Computer Skills Proficient. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations None. Air Methods is an EEO/AA employer.
