We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Construction Accountant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who is passionate about the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing our financial operations and ensuring our projects are financially successful. This position requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles and practices, as well as a high degree of professional integrity.
Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Construction Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties, including but not limited to:
1. Overseeing and managing all financial aspects of our construction projects, from initial budgeting to final cost reconciliation.
2. Preparing and analyzing financial reports, identifying any potential discrepancies or areas for improvement.
3. Managing accounts receivable (A/R) and ensuring timely and accurate payment from clients.
4. Performing 3-way match to ensure that invoices, purchase orders, and received quantities are consistent.
5. Collaborating closely with project managers, general contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and accountability.
6. Utilizing Sage 300 or equivalent accounting software to manage financial data and generate reports.
7. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
8. Providing financial advice and guidance to management, helping to drive strategic decision-making and business growth.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Consulting Construction Accountant position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. At least 2 years of experience in construction accounting, preferably with a general contractor.
3. Proven experience with accounts receivable, 3-way match, and cost reconciliation.
4. Proficiency with Sage 300 or equivalent construction accounting software.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
7. A high degree of professional integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
8. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of construction accounting.
