ERM is seeking a Consulting Senior Associate, Social Performance Specialist to support and grow our Sustainable Finance, Social Performance, and Impact Assessment practice areas. In this role, you will focus on preparing environmental and social impact assessment (ESIAs), environmental and social due diligences (ESDD), and environmental and social (E&S) monitoring reports across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond. You will also support preparation of social baseline studies and development of social plans (stakeholder engagement, compensation frameworks, Indigenous peoples, human rights, labor and working conditions) that align with the World Bank IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and other applicable national and international standards. Responsibilities include supporting ERM clients’ development projects such as renewable energy, power generation, electrical transmission, infrastructure, and other development projects, contributing expertise in application of the international performance standards and social performance. Support preparation of ESDDs, ESIAs, social management plans/systems, and monitoring projects in compliance with applicable national and international lender standards. Contribute to preparing deliverables, serving in roles ranging from leading social expert to quality review. Perform project delivery activities such as report writing, undertaking and organizing data collection, survey and fieldwork, data and literature review, and development of recommendations for clients. Conduct review of national and international financed projects against host country permitting requirements and international lender standards, through documentation review, site visits, project staff interviews, and stakeholder engagement. Design and deliver training and facilitate meetings related to sustainable finance and impact assessment projects and clients. Collaborate with other ERM practitioners to execute impact assessments for projects and social studies. Work to develop subject matter expertise in the sustainable finance practice area, focusing on social components. Requirements include a bachelor's or master's in social sciences, political science, environmental or natural resources sciences, or similar field, or equivalent experience; 1+ years (3 preferred) of qualitative and/or quantitative research and technical report writing, impact assessment, and/or consulting experience; experience with international lender standards preferred; excellent communication skills; ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment; cross-cultural competence and experience working with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
