Job Description
Overview
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing documentation requirements of new and existing patients' insurance benefits verification to ensure accurate treatment estimates. Acts as secondary front desk; assisting with patient scheduling, reception, check-in, and check-out. This is a full-time hourly position, $20-$22 per hour.
Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Liaise with insurance providers to elucidate patients' coverage and to resolve disputes about rejected claims
Prioritizes and processes incoming Insurance Verifications, Referrals, and Prior Authorization requests
Verifies member/patient eligibility
Ensures insurance carrier documentation requirements are met
Understands and can explain dental and medical insurance plan benefits.
Effectively communicate with others, including physician offices, insurance companies, patients, and others about insurance benefits and costs associated to procedures.
Handles multiple assignments or pieces of work at one time.
Assists with scheduling and checking in of patients.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of dental/medical benefits and breakdowns a plus
Proficient computer skills
