Pentaflex, Inc. is a contract manufacturer of metal stampings and assemblies located in Springfield, Ohio. Specializing in heavy gauge and highly formed components, Pentaflex supplies the commercial truck , automotive , medical and off-road industries among others. In addition to providing stamped components, Pentaflex also offers a complete range of value added services including welding, machining and the assembly of purchased components.

Pentaflex has immediate opening for a Director of Business Development with experience in metal stamping, program management, and cost estimation in the heavy truck industry. 



Functions and Responsibilities:

• Work with Sales Director and President to plan and execute award of new business and existing business to meet company objectives as defined in the 3-year plan.
• Work with the Engineering Director to manage the tooling and tool design activities to cost, propose, purchase tooling, source facilities and manage programs to meet objectives defined in the 3-year plan and consistent with company drive to lean manufacturing opportunities.
• Direct cost estimating activities for new projects and engineering changes to receive awards of business consistent with the 3-year business plan and performance metric defined annually. Enter necessary tooling and product information in the Plex ERP system to support new programs and engineering changes.
• Direct the Program Managers to execute on-time completion of programs and exceed customer and company expectations of quality, delivery and cost that meet company APQP requirements.
• Direct Customer Service activities to maintain positive relationships with customers and ensure timely information flow between customers, production and program managers for effective program launches and production runs.
• Support Tool Room in preparation of tooling specified for production during the program management process supporting tooling schedule for on-time build.
• Support lean manufacturing activities to promote continuous improvement and reduce waste through principles of 5S, kaizen, productivity, crap reduction, and cell optimization. Support plant performance in on-time delivery, customer rejections, productivity, cost of quality, value add and safety.
• Direct the preparation of business development and opportunity metrics such as quote success rate, program management, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
• Support IATF 16949 certification by following written Pentaflex procedures.

Education and Experience:

• Prefer a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a manager in highly structured manufacturing environment directly related to stamping, tooling, program management and stamping sales. 
• 10 years’ experience root cause analysis performance
