Your Purpose The Email Developer is a technical role that is critical to bringing our customer lifecycle marketing campaigns to life. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the Marketo platform and ability to translate creative files into visually appealing and technically sound email templates. They are responsible for the front-end development, testing, and deployment of high-quality HTML email templates within our Marketo environment, ensuring optimal rendering across various email clients and devices, setting up audience lists and segmentation, and sending emails. The ability to evaluate our current Marketo setup and advise on best practices and areas of improvement is highly desired. Your Impact Collaborate closely with the Creative and CRM & Customer Lifecycle Marketing teams to understand campaign requirements and timelines. Design and develop responsive HTML email templates that align with our brand guidelines and marketing objectives. Translate design mockups and content briefs into functional and visually appealing email templates. Ensure email templates are optimized for deliverability, open rates, and click-through rates. Thoroughly test email templates across various email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) and devices (desktop, mobile, tablet) to ensure consistent rendering and functionality. Implement dynamic content and personalization within email templates using Marketo tokens and scripting languages. Maintain and update existing email templates, ensuring they remain current and effective. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to email development and rendering. Stay up-to-date with the latest email marketing best practices, design trends, and platform updates. Adhere to coding standards and version control best practices. Advanced Marketo skills are highly desired: Core Platform: A deep understanding of Marketo's core functionalities, including Programs, Campaigns (Smart and Triggered), Emails, Lead Scoring, Segmentation and Reporting. Velocity Scripting Language: Understanding the syntax and capabilities for advanced email personalization and dynamic content. Knowledge of the broader Adobe Experience Platform (Journey Optimizer, Real-Time CDP, etc.) is desired but not necessary. Your Journey so far Proven experience (4+ years) in developing HTML email templates for marketing campaigns. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS (including responsive design principles and media queries), and inline styling best practices for email. Solid understanding of the Marketo platform (4+ years), including template creation, dynamic content, personalization, and reporting. Advanced skills are highly desired. Experience with testing tools and methodologies for email rendering across different clients and devices. Familiarity with email marketing best practices, CAN-SPAM regulations, and data privacy guidelines. Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. A portfolio showcasing your email development work is highly preferred.
