STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an entry-level engineer to join our team. This position will focus on supporting our nationwide assessment and repair engineering division. We are hiring for our Chicago, Illinois; Columbia, Maryland; or Houston, Texas offices. Collectively, the STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES group of companies is the largest concrete specialty concrete repair contractor in the United States. Our integrated investigate-design-build teams identify problems, create repair solutions, and implement repair projects for owners in the industrial and power generation markets. We develop and integrate products and engineering support to make structures stronger and last longer. We deliver value-added solutions using state-of-the-art products and engineering support along with installation and construction services through our licensed contracting companies.
As an Engineer with Structural Technologies, you will apply your knowledge and develop new skills while working in a series of disciplines. This role will provide you the opportunity to customize your career path based on your interests and goals. You will attain well-rounded knowledge that will offer boundless opportunities for your professional development by working with a group of mentors throughout your time with Structural Technologies.
As an entry-level engineer, you will become immersed in a variety of aspects of engineering and construction in multiple market sectors developing skills in:
* Field Inspections and Structural Condition Assessments
* Production of technical reports and submittals
* Engineering analysis and design related to repair of concrete & steel structures
* Project management
* Business development and client relations
Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:
* Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
* Master's degree in civil or structural engineering, or currently pursuing
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent documentation and organizational skills
* Strong computer skills
* Working knowledge with Finite Element Analysis software such as SAP2000, RISA3D, STAAD or similar
* Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting/BIM software
* Solid understanding of how structures behave
* Enthusiasm and curiosity for solving problems and understanding how things work
* Ability to travel and work in the field, both locally and outside the local area
* Ability to enter secure facilities (ex: Nuclear and Industrial plants)
* Strong focus on working safely in a variety of challenging environments
