Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities - Is responsible for the assembly, disassembly and maintenance of EnergySolutions stationary machinery and equipment. Performs routine scheduled maintenance and repairs of broken and malfunctioning machines/equipment. Performs installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers (e.g., plumbers, carpenters, welders and pipefitters).
\n - Installs, maintains, upgrades and fabricates machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. These tasks are necessary to ensure smooth company operations and to ensure high-quality products and services for EnergySolutions customers.
\n - Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, precision bearings, gear boxes, motors, mechanical clutches, conveyors and tram rails using hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers and trucks.
\n - Bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens machinery/equipment to foundations or other structures using hand and power tools.
\n - Constructs foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement and steel.
\n - Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
\n - Operates engine lathes to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
\n - Takes measurements to ensure installed machines function at their maximum capacity.
\n - Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand and power tools.
\n - Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
\n - Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
\n - There is no supervision of other workers at this level.
\n - Responsible for the quality of his/her own work and satisfying customer (internal and external) specifications.
\n - Must be able to work independently and resolve practical problems.
\n - Must complete process/facility training as assigned.
\n - Performs other duties as assigned.

\n - Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and determine whether repairs to equipment are needed

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions - Ability to perform physically demanding work
\n - Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and environments wherein there is exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, chemicals and mechanical and electrical hazards
\n - Ability to carry, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds; handle, grip, and reach above or below shoulder
\n - Ability to use hands and feet to accomplish tasks as assigned
\n - Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend/stoop, crouch, squat/kneel, crawl, twist at the waist and balance
\n - Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
\n - Ability to perceive depth and adjust focus
\n - Ability to see close and distance, basic colors/shades, peripheral vision; and basic hand/eye coordination
\n - Ability to work inside an office, outside, and in extreme temperatures
\n - Ability to work with machinery vibration, power tools, and slippery/uneven walking surfaces; operate equipment/machinery
\n - Ability to work with others, interact with the public, operate a motor vehicle, and perform under deadline pressure
\n - Basic mechanical ability
\n - Ability to wear protective equipment such as: respirator, goggles, hard hat, gloves, steel toe boots, and chemical resistant coveralls
\n - Certified hazardous waste worker, radiation worker, and respirator medical qualification
\n
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements Education - High School diploma or GED
\n
Certifications Required Experience - A minimum of 1 year of experience in welding or other maintenance-related field
\n
