Coyne Oral Surgery is seeking a skilled and committed Front Desk Assistant open to supporting as needed as a Surgical Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Our core belief is putting the patient’s needs first, and it underlies every aspect of our practice.

This is a hybrid role where the candidate will work in all areas of the practice and also eventually be cross trained in dental assisting.

Front Desk/ Surgical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1+ years of experience in a medical, dental or oral office setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Greet patients as they arrive for their appointment.
• Answer phone calls promptly.
• Perform office administrative tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
• Organized and detail oriented while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Greet and accompany patients for treatment to ensure their comfort.
• Schedule procedures for clinical visits.
• Verify & enter patient's insurance coverage in practice management software for new and existing patients and referrals.
• Calculate patient financial responsibilities based on insurance coverage.
• Sterilize, maintain, and organize instruments and prepare treatment rooms for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Take inventory to ensure enough supplies for surgery.
• Prepare patients for surgery.
• Pass Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout operations.
• Recount surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operations.
• Maintain an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery.
• Enter and complete patient chart notes and documentation.
• Willingness to learn and be trained on all aspects of the office.
