Sustaino LLC is a company dedicated to developing self-sustainable residential communities in NC. Our mission is to design communities that harmonize with nature, allowing residents to produce food within the community, coexist with wildlife, and foster habitats for birds and microorganisms, all while reducing the carbon footprint.

We are looking for a part-time gardener with experience or willing to train in fine gardening, maintenance, and installation of all types of landscapes. Typical work includes fine gardening, garden maintenance, mulching, deadheading, pruning, fertilizer application, bed clean-up, installing and maintaining container plantings, watering, planting, propagating bedding plants, identifying plant health problems, and weeding. This position is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and use hands and arms for operation of gardening tools and planting. • Perform physical work safely in all weather conditions.
• Follow specific instructions regarding the proper planting and care of plants.
• Be willing to be trained according to the standards set by our company for plant installation and care.
• Lift and carry 30 – 50 lbs.
• Keep track of tools and tasks completed.
• Plant identification skills.
• Must be dependable, have reliable transportation and arrive to work on time.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Assist in loading and unloading tools and supplies,
• Assists in keeping job site safe, clean, and organized.
• Promptly informs supervisor of problem areas, equipment issues, or any accident or loss.
• Manages time effectively to complete tasks assigned.
• Always maintain a professional appearance.

Applicants must have:

• A valid North Carolina Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
We offer a flexible schedule and the option to choose your own hours Monday to Friday. Our service area is primarily Whitsett, NC.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour, dependent on experience
Work Location: In person
