Greenhouse Manager Department of Agriculture College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics The Department of Agriculture at Southeast Missouri State University is seeking an outstanding candidate to manage the Charles Hutson Greenhouse.
Primary Responsibilities - Oversight of the Charles Hutson Greenhouse and the Charles Nemanick Alternative Ag Garden
- Establishment and management of budgets
- Development and administration of greenhouse policies and procedures, including safety
- Development and implementation of strategic plan for greenhouse
- Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate student employees
- Complete routine greenhouse maintenance and repairs
- Support faculty and student research
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture or closely related field
- Two years of production horticulture experience
- Ability to train and supervise employees
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and database management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in greenhouse facility management and operations
- Experience with budget management
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to work some nights and weekends and during all types of weather
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
