Job Description

Minimum starting $26.00 plus, per hour, depending on qualifications.

The Levy Company is currently hiring an experienced Journeyman Electrician/Electrical Foreman. Under general supervision, Electricians install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints. This position will also be responsible for other construction and commercial duties as assigned.

Essential Functions may include but are not limited to:
  1. Read and interpret mechanical, architectural, and electrical drawings and code specifications to determine wiring layouts.
  2. Troubleshoot, test, and repair various equipment and electrical systems.
  3. Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance to equipment and electrical systems.
  4. Plan and coordinate work, determine equipment needs, and develop sequences of steps to ensure work completion.
  5. Supervise and train apprentices and helpers.
Required Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of four years of electrical experience.
  2. Journeyman electrician license issued by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
  3. Valid Texas driver license.
  4. High school diploma or equivalent.
  5. Must provide own hand tools.
  6. TWIC card.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Valid Texas commercial driver license.
Required Competencies:
  1. Advanced understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  2. Basic mathematical skills.
  3. Ability to organize own work and that of apprentices and helpers.
  4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively.
  6. Ability to work under minimal supervision.


Working Environment:

Work is performed in primarily outdoor environments with constant exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and temperature extremes.

Physical Demands:
  • Frequent operation of equipment with vibrating and moving parts.
  • Frequent and repeated hand and arm movement to manipulate tools, handles, and levers.
  • Frequent and repeated lifting from ground to various heights up to 50 pounds individually, and team lifting heavier items.
  • Frequent and repeated exerting of force up to 100 pounds.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional walking on uneven and / or unpaved terrain.
  • Frequent climbing steps, ladders, and in/out/onto vehicles.
  • Frequent and repeated bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.
  • Visual acuity to drive motor vehicles and mobile equipment, distinguish colors, and to read printed and electronic documents.
  • Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common driving and construction environment noises.
