A Day in the Life of a Laboratory Technician at Discovery Life Sciences: •Working with human blood and bone marrow.
•Maintain organized records and documentation for all laboratory procedures.
•Display creativity and problem-solving skills when faced with complex challenges.
•Efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience): •Bachelor's Degree in Biological sciences or a related field.
•Familiarity with general laboratory equipment.
•Internship at a laboratory or experience in industry or academia, including laboratory-based skills in cell biology (cell culture, cell isolation, sterile technique, etc).
•Independent research experience, and in addition to college lab experience, is strongly preferred.
•Strong multitasking skills and the ability to maintain organized records.
•Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset.
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities: •Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work inclusively and in collaboration with a diverse population.
•Full time lab-based position. Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
•Working knowledge of universal precautions, bloodborne pathogens, and handling human specimens
•Proven laboratory experience, basic mammalian cell culture techniques preferred
•Proficiency with basic lab functions such as pipetting and basic laboratory math (conversions and calculations).
•Ability to use a standard light microscope.
•Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
•Coordinate reagent stock and ordering.
•Prepare and maintain lab stocks of solutions, buffers, media, and reagents. Prepares custom media and reagents for individual researchers as required
•Excellent administrative skills, including strong computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook), able to effectively maintain written and computer records.
•Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
•Able to manage multiple and varied tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
•Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its operations.
•Perform all duties in compliance with listed SOPs and policies.
•Embrace a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and a strong work ethic.
•Demonstrate a can-do attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for making a difference in patient lives.
Compensation and Benefits: Discovery Life Sciences is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $25.00-$27.00 an hour. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.

Location and work hours: •This position is ON SITE at our Seattle, WA office. Work schedule is Monday-Friday. 9am-5pm PST
