Staffing Now , a division of SNI Companies , has an immediate Legal Assistant opening working for our client in Houston Office, TX. The legal assistant will be responsible for preparing interventions and citations related to current delinquent accounts. This position offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced legal assistants and entry-level candidates looking to gain valuable experience in the legal field.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with updating monthly litigation reports.
• Preparing E-File petitions, Notices of Cancellations, Interventions and other supporting documents.
• Provide phone assistance to taxpayers and support the Attorney and Area Managers with requests related to document production, case and data research, and the review of tax accounts and suits.
• Handle inquiries and/or requests regarding tax account status, payoffs, inquiries regarding suit information and/or payment agreements.
• Answer taxpayer phone calls; Primarily handle inquiries and/or requests from Attorneys, Lienholders, Title Companies etc.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of professional experience working in an office environment.
• Tax, Appraisal, E-filing experience - Preferred
• Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, professionalism, and a can-do attitude
• Self-starter who is eager to learn and get the job done with minimal supervision
• Intermediate software skills in MS Office Suite

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this position starts at $17.00 per hour. Your actual pay rate will be determined based upon your skills, knowledge and abilities including work experience.
