Job Description: Marine Pipe Welder Job Summary: As a Pipe Welder your expertise in welding will be pivotal in fabricating and joining metal pipes and components. Your skills will ensure the integrity and quality of welds in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards.You expertise will be essential for maintaining the integrity of pipe systems, even in challenging conditions like confined spaces, different weather, and at varying heights. You’ll be contributing to vessel construction on multiple shifts, ensuring the successful completion of quality craftsmanship. Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Proficiently perform various welding techniques, including TIG, and Stick, to join metal pipes and components with precision and structural integrity.
- Prepare pipes and materials for welding, including cutting, beveling, and cleaning surfaces to achieve proper fit-up.
- Inspect completed welds using non-destructive testing methods to ensure adherence to industry standards and project specifications.
Essential Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- 2-5 years in Marine/shipbuilding experience
- Welding in 5G and 6GR positions
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and practices in welding.
- Capable of conducting weld inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with colleagues.
Safety & Environmental Factors: All employees are expected to adhere to the company’s safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
