Job Overview Legacy Industries is currently hiring 6 Marine Tack Welder to support our shipyard fabrication and welding operations. This is a full-time, hands-on role ideal for those with entry-level experience or a background in basic welding and fabrication. Tackers play a vital support role in the shipbuilding process by preparing materials, assisting fitters and welders, and performing precision tack welding to hold components in place before final welds are completed. Key Responsibilities - Assist fitters and welders in the fabrication and welding of multi-component parts
- Perform tack welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Set up welding machines and equipment for basic operations
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to meet project specifications
- Use grinders and hand tools to prepare or finish materials
- Inspect work for quality and accuracy, ensuring project compliance
- Follow all company and industry safety protocols
Qualifications - Minimum 1+ year of experience in a tacker or basic welding role preferred
- Basic understanding of shipyard terminology and structural components
- Must pass a drug test and physical
- No formal education or certification required; skills will be tested onsite
- Entry-level candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
