Job Summary

We are seeking a Bilingual Chinese and English speaking Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will assist a surgeon with in-office procedures and attend all aspects of patient care. You will also be working with insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for approval for medical procedures. You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in applying to medical school, nursing, and PA schools to gain clinical experience. We offer recommendations after a period of work experience in our office. Minimum commitment is 1 year.

Schedule: Mon- Thur. 9:15 am- 5:30 pm Wed 9:15 am- 7 pm

Responsibilities 

• Prepare for the patient visit, including reviewing medical charts electronically, as well as setting up medical equipment
• Clean instruments and equipment after use
• Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
• Book appointments for patients
• Assist surgeon with medical care and various vascular procedures
• Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties
• Rotating Front desk duties of collecting patient payments and booking appointments

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Fast learner can adapt to the environment quickly
• Need to speak working Chinese and English
• Prior medical office experience is a plus and ECW EMR experience is a plus
• Scribe experience is a plus
