**We are currently seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to work at UAB St. Vincent's hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.** In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. **Work Schedule:** 2nd shift; 7 days on/ 7 days off: Wednesday through Tuesday 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM **.** The hours/location may change/vary based on business need and/or the request(s) of your supervisor or management. **Work Location:** Birmingham, Alabama **Benefits:** Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. For more detailed information, please click here ( **.** **Job Responsibilities:** + Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups + Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc. + Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner + Process billing information and collect payments when required + Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis + Maintain patient and specimen information logs + Provide superior customer service to all patients + Administrative and clerical duties as necessary + Travel to additional sites when needed **Job Requirements:** + High school diploma or equivalent + 6 months or more phlebotomy experience required + One year or more specimen processing experience is preferred + High volume phlebotomy experience is a plus + Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred + Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service + Strong communication skills; both written and verbal + Ability to work independently or in a team environment + Comfortable working under minimal supervision + Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable + Flexibility to work overtime as needed + Able to pass a standardized color blindness test If you're looking for a career that offers opportunities for growth, continual development, professional challenge and the chance to make a real difference, apply today!
