About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to join a rapidly growing manufacturer. This is an exciting chance to work with a smaller, fast-paced organization of 100+ employees that values innovation, safety, and delivering high-quality solutions to customers worldwide.
What You’ll Do
Develop, commission, and troubleshoot advanced control systems for electrode and electric boilers.
Program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and related systems (hardware, network, and software).
Conduct factory and field testing of control systems, I/O, and safety interlocks.
Ensure compliance with NEC and UL508a standards.
Create operating procedures, training materials, and user guides.
Provide customer technical support and training (remote, phone, and on-site).
Collaborate with electrical engineers and managers on various engineering initiatives.
Travel & Schedule
~50% travel: typically Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends.
Paid travel time + time-and-a-half for hours over 40.
$65 per diem for meals + company card.
When not traveling, work onsite at Franklin Park with two hybrid days per week after 6 months.
Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm.
What We’re Looking For
Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma/GED required.
5+ years of hands-on experience in PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
PLC technical certification preferred.
Strong background in electrical design, diagnostics, and problem-solving.
Proficiency with PLC automation software (Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, STEP 7, WinCC).
Experience with ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and S7-1200 controllers.
Knowledge of communication protocols: Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice to Have: Prior boiler industry experience.
