Public Relations Senior Coordinator April 2024 The Public Relations Senior Coordinator will create and leverage effective public relations, targeted media, digital and email marketing, advertising, press releases, website, social media, publications, and collateral materials to perform their role. The Public Relations Senior Coordinator will supervise day-to-day work of the marketing team to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials.
Summary: The Public Relations Senior Coordinator is responsible for broadly employing all means of communications, media relations, social media, and marketing to communicate with Music for All's many audiences, promote the Music for All brands, and advance its mission and strategic goals to increase participation, attendance, awareness, and philanthropic support.
The Public Relations Senior Coordinator will create and leverage effective public relations, press releases, website, targeted media, digital and email marketing, advertising, social media, publications, and collateral materials to perform their role.
Reports to: Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications
Key Responsibilities: Press and Media: Write and distribute organizational media releases and alerts, manage photo opportunities, host press outlets and film crews on site, pitch stories to media in targeted key markets, track impressions and earned media, prepare reports on story pick up and coverage.
Video and Photo Management: Manage video opportunities, prep and conduct interviews. Create call sheets for contracted photographers and videographers and collaborate on strategy for visual content gathering.
Website: Working knowledge of WordPress to update content, refresh imagery, and monitor the organization's website.
Advertising: Work with local, regional, and national outlets to place paid advertisements or coordinate promotional partnership for the organization while keeping within the departmental budget.
Community Relations: Participate with the entire team as an ambassador for Music for All in its home and event communities - forging partnerships, identifying collaborative opportunities, and serving on committees for community initiatives as needed.
Event Production: Music for All fulfills its mission through top-notch events and programs. All full-time staff will have event travel out of town for several days to up to a week each year. All Music for All staff members assist in event setup and logistics as needed and assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Preferred: - B.A. from an accredited institution with a concentration in public relations, communications, marketing, or another related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years' experience in PR and Marketing - working in arts and/or nonprofit sector a plus.
- Experience working with press and media, as well as a wide array of diverse audiences and/or community organizations.
- Positive, creative, enthusiastic self-starter with superior planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple PR/Marketing projects and deadlines, and be able to take a project from concept to successful execution.
- Top-notch writing/copy editing.
- Should enjoy public speaking and possess diplomatic interpersonal skills.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Experience designing print and digital marketing collateral.
- WordPress or comparable web CMS experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with additional digital media tools such as email marketing, Canva, Hootsuite, and/or others is a plus.
- Ability to work some weekends and evenings seasonally, and when needed to assist with key special events, programs and/or press visits.
