JOB PURPOSE This position requires an energetic individual to work in a fast-paced team-oriented receiving position. The Receiving Clerk will provide support with the entire receiving process (dock to receipt) which includes routine trailer inspections, unloading/loading trucks, and documentation (packing slips and BOLs) of inbound shipments. The ideal candidate must be detailed orientated with a basic understanding of how receipts are posted both physically and electronically. Accurate data entry with excellent organizational skills essential. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as vendor invoices or packing slips, and internal company documents. The ideal candidate must also have forklift experience in a fast-paced environment, driving in/out of trailers, filling out checklists and following SOPs, policies, and PPE rules. This position is key to ensuring effective and efficient shipping and receiving of product. Able to work well under pressure and time constraints.
WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Demands: Requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting and reaching above shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, or balancing. Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: forklifts, motor vehicles.
Work Location: Receiving; aircraft maintenance hangar.
Potential Hazards: Exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, working around moving machinery.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Job Functions: - Receive all incoming parts under strict FAA receiving regulations.
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase orders (POs) or invoices to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
- Interact with drivers; perform inspections frequently throughout the day (all weather conditions).
- Must safely operate carts/dollies, pallet jacks, pallet riders, and/or forklifts in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
- May deliver sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and/or log inventory which is (returns) received by FedEx, UPS or other.
- Track packages when required.
- Stage parts for distribution to various work orders and other departments.
- Answers the telephone.
- Performs maintenance work such as shop housecleaning.
- May maintain department database, and file shipping/receiving records.
- Must be able to follow all SOPs and company policies while adhering to PPE.
- Participate in cross-training and other strategic or operational initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
SMS REQUIREMENTS - Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and SMS compliance.
- Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
- Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.

Job functions may vary due to irregular working conditions or multiple shift positions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills. Good mathematical skills; ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; ability to safely drive and operate a standard shift automotive vehicle and other applicable equipment; ability to work without supervision.
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: - One-year work experience required.
- 2+ years experience in receiving, unloading trucks and material handling is desirable.
- 1+ years work experience using Microsoft Applications is a plus.
- Experience with regard to receiving inspections, documentation and trace-ability of aircraft parts per FAA regulations helpful but not required.
- Must have a basic understanding of operating systems (used for inbound shipments).
Certificates/Licenses: - Valid drivers license required.
- Previous forklift certification preferred
Other: May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
Knowledge/Skills: - Must have a basic understanding of operating systems (used for inbound shipments).
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Must adhere to and follow all safety requirements/policies and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Comply with all OSHA, FAA, and company initiatives/policies.
