Job Description
In a vaccine research department under general supervision of the principal investigator, conducts a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests using molecular, cell biology and/or biochemistry techniques. Performs specific lab procedures including DNA cloning, cell culture, subunit protein production & purification, adenovirus vector-vaccine production and purification, mRNA/self-amplifying RNA/circRNA production and mRNA-LNP vaccine fabrication, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, western blot and other assays as needed. Performs lab procedures with speed, precision, and understanding of theory behind tests and procedures. Performs Level I responsibilities with a higher level of problem resolution, analytical ability, and self-direction.

Knowledge of virology, biochemistry, hematology, immunology, serology, lab procedures and principles preferred. Organizational ability and time management is demonstrated. Must be a team player to all groups, confidential of sensitive data, and accountable for work output. Detail oriented. Ability to plan/organize technical work and manage workload to service multiple requests and tasks at one time, while maintaining quality and a professional manner. Must work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; accept direction. Must be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies. Able to reason and solve problems effectively, analyze and interpret data. Self-motivated and works well with minimal direction.

Written Communications: Ability to read, and write in English in order to understand basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisor/manager; communicate effectively with co-workers; and respond to basic questions.
Oral Communications: Ability to understand spoken English in order to follow basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisor/manager; communicate effectively in basic English with co-workers in response to routine questions.
Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use them in routine situations. Specialized knowledge not required.
Customer Service: Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in Life Sciences or related scientific field.
1-3 years related work experience required.
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience or a Master’s degree with requisite knowledge and skills.
Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Physical Nature of the Job:
