Job Overview: As a remote Sign Language Interpreter, you will provide essential interpretation services for a deaf or hard-of-hearing elementary student. Collaborating closely with the student, teachers, and school staff, you will facilitate effective communication, ensuring the student can fully engage in their educational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver real-time sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, group activities, and one-on-one interactions.
Partner with teachers and school staff to understand the student's needs and the curriculum.
Ensure clear and accurate communication between the student and their peers or educators.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Adapt interpretation methods to meet the student's age and educational level.

Qualifications:

Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, NIC) or an equivalent qualification.
Proven experience interpreting in an educational setting, preferably with elementary students.
Strong understanding of educational terminology and the ability to convey concepts effectively.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Reliable internet connection and access to necessary technology for remote interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working with children or in a school environment.
Knowledge of or experience with specialized educational strategies for students with hearing impairments.
