Job Summary

Are you a creative thinker with a passion for visual storytelling and digital innovation? As a Sr. Multimedia Journalist, you will promote the mission, policies and initiatives of the Alabama Farmers Federation, Alfa Insurance and affiliated organizations through video and broadcast channels. You will also share the stories of Alabama farmers and Alfa team members through compelling video storytelling to enhance public opinion, inform key constituents, educate target audiences, and motivate advocates. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and collaborative team player who values relationships.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise stories for weekly television show and conduct interviews and research.
• Write show scripts, including package introductions and anchor tags
• Capture creative and compelling video for the weekly television show as well as Federation and Alfa projects.
• Continually hone skills related to image composition, camera movement, lighting and sound to effectively share the stories of Alabama farmers and Alfa team members.
• Professionally, creatively and efficiently edit packages and shows for Simply Southern TV as well as other video projects for the Federation and Alfa.
• Serve as co-host or anchor for the television show as needed and emcee Alfa and Federation programs including awards presentations and large conference sessions.
• Develop relationships with broadcast media outlets to facilitate coverage of Federation and Alfa activities as well as respond to media inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related major.
• At least 3 years experience in broadcast or video production
• Ability to combine necessary technical knowledge with creative storytelling
• Initiative to enterprise stories and work independently as well as ability to work collaboratively with other members of a creative team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client relationships.
• General office skills such as copying, filing, and typing 30 words per minute.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Adobe Premiere, or similar editing software, and Creative Suite applications.
