RN Clinical Education Specialist — Kaweah Delta Health Care District

Location: 400 W Mineral King Ave, Visalia, CA 93291
Start Date: 06/30/2025
Duration: 13 weeks
Positions Available: 2
Shift: Night, 3x 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Unit: L&D Night Educator (1 position) / CVICU/ICU Night Educator (1 position - open heart experience required)

Job Overview

Provide ongoing educational assessments and develop tailored educational programs to meet staff learning needs using adult learning principles. Deliver orientation, competency assessments, and continuing education to nursing staff. Maintain clinical competence and may provide direct patient care as needed.

Requirements
  • License/Certifications:
    • CA RN License (Required)
    • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Education:
    • BSN (Required)
    • Master’s degree (Preferred)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years recent RN educator experience in acute care
    • Experience with curriculum development and adult learning styles
  • Specialized Experience for CVICU:
    • Open heart experience required
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess staff educational needs and develop educational programs
  • Plan and conduct orientation and competency evaluations for new hires and existing staff
  • Collaborate with leadership and management on educational goals
  • Maintain education records and compliance documentation
  • Participate in department and hospital-wide committees and quality improvement projects
  • Stay clinically competent and provide direct patient care if needed
Compensation & Schedule
  • Hourly Rate: $75.93 total (W2 taxable $39.00 + Non-taxable stipend $36.93)
  • Weekly Gross Pay: $3,037 (40 hours/week)
  • Overtime Rate: $58.50/hr (W2 taxable)
  • Shift: Night, 3 shifts/week, 12 hours each (18:00 – 06:30)
  • Orientation: 18 hours (non-billable)
Additional Notes
  • CA RN license must be in hand
  • Candidates must float within units as required
  • Charting experience not required; training provided
  • Must comply with COVID-19 vaccine (with medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • Local candidates within 50-mile radius not accepted; travel required
  • Participation in holiday shifts as per hospital schedule
