Responsibilities

  • Conduct holistic Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews of complex high-risk customer relationships using customer risk scoring models.
  • Perform transactional reviews for potential money laundering and terrorist financing using automated AML monitoring systems, reports, and other methods.
  • Investigate, document, and determine if suspicious activity warrants a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filing.
  • Prepare and file SARs for the AML CIU team.
  • Review and approve SARs escalated by EDD analysts.
  • Conduct extensive background investigations using public and private databases in accordance with AML and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in developing best practices, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform reviews of law enforcement inquiries, subpoenas, internal/external escalations, and assist with audit requests.
  • Support and lead various projects including remediation, testing, drafting procedures, and other assignments from AML leadership.
  • Conduct supervisory reviews, reporting, and metrics tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 6+ years of financial industry or related experience, including 5+ years in AML or related risk roles.
  • Proven experience conducting and/or leading complex financial crimes investigations (fraud, money laundering, illicit financial activities).
  • Strong knowledge of AML BSA compliance requirements (CIP, KYC, CDD, EDD).
  • Ability to identify, escalate, and report suspicious activity.
  • Solid understanding of complex transactional life cycles in brokerage, banking, lending, credit cards, trusts, and investment banking.
  • Experience with compliance analysis, risk identification, and control mechanisms.
  • Strong knowledge of banking and brokerage products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with AML software, Capital Markets surveillance, SQL Server, Actimize, Thomson Reuters Clear, and Moody’s Data Analytics (RDC).
