Job Description

Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to work directly with Senior Project managers in all aspects of the project lifecycle, and will be working regularly with Building Owners, Owners Reps, Construction Managers, General Contractors, Trade Subcontractors. This role is based in Hartford, CT with travel to NYC (1 day biweekly).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Quantity Takeoffs and document data in a clear and effective manner
  • Generate Project Budgets to be presented to management and clients
  • Generate Project Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to be issued to potential project suppliers
  • Manage RFP processes and generate leveling spreadsheets to compare bidders
  • Generate Project Schedules to project all phases of the project timeline
  • Generate Cash Flow projections for clients
  • Oversee and manage drafting team through Shop Drawings and Fabrication Ticketing
  • Review and Approve Shop Drawings and Fabrication Tickets prior to fabrication
  • Manage production schedules with suppliers and regularly report on progress to clients
  • Manage material shipments and be able to report regularly to clients
  • Coordinate with Construction Managers, General Contractors, Owners, Other Trade Contractors
  • Expected to travel 1 day every other week to New York City or surrounding area
  • Periodic domestic and international travel 2 – 3 weeks per year

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, navigate, and analyze architectural construction drawings and shop drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office Suite products
  • Engineering Degree required (Mechanical / Civil preferred)
  • Understanding of CAD programs (Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred)
  • Previous construction experience required

  • Self-driven, able to take on and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
