Job Description

Our client, a consulting electrical engineering firm is seeking an experienced Drafter to join their team in Columbia, SC. Previous drafting experience preferred, but firm is willing to take on an entry level candidate. The ideal candidate would have interest in electrical design and have exposure to AutoCAD or Revit design/drafting programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform drafting work for projects.
• Assist engineers, project managers, designers, field staff and other team members as needed.
• Work with team members to collect design data.
• Conversion of design data into design documents
• Project drawing setup and preparation
• Assisting with project drawing/file organization
• Project development from concept to complete design, with assistance from inhouse staff
• Coordination with other members of the design team
• Positive attitude toward clients and project team
• Self-improvement/growth – continuing education to maintain competence and improve expertise
• Willing to work overtime as required to support project schedules

Skills/Qualifications

• Previous drafting experience
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Revit design/drafting programs
• Interest in electrical design
• Knowledge of computers, plotting and systems related to engineering design
• Knowledgeable of Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
