Job Description

The Shipyard Contracts and Estimating Manager oversees the preparation and negotiation of shipyard contracts.. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of contracts, from initial drafting to final closeout, and ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates are provided for bids.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contract Management:
• Drafting, negotiating, and administering contracts related to ship construction, repair, and maintenance.
• Estimating:
• Developing detailed cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, and equipment, using drawings, specifications, and on-site inspections.
• Data Management:
• Maintaining accurate records of contracts, procurement processes, and project costs.
• Communication:
• Communicating effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure contract compliance and project success.
• Negotiation:
• Negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable deals.
• Change Management:
• Tracking and managing changes to contracts, including change orders, REAs, and claims.
• Reporting:
• Preparing and submitting reports on contract status, project progress, and cost variances.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of contracts and procurement processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong experience in the shipbuilding or ship repair industry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, business) preferred
