Our client, a leader in the telecommunications industry, is seeking a Fiber Optics Cable Technician to join their team. As a Cable Technician , you will be part of the technical support team, contributing to the installation and maintenance of fiber optic systems. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Fiber Optics Cable Technician

Location: Charleston, WV

Pay Range: $16-20

What's the Job?

• Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fiber optic networks, identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
• Utilize various testing equipment, including OTDRs, power meters, and light sources, to ensure optimal network performance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams related to fiber optic cable installations.

What's Needed?

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optics Cable Technician.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic principles, cable types, connectors, and splicing techniques.
• Proficiency in using fiber optic testing equipment (OTDR, power meter, light source).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
