  • Install, maintain and repair irrigation systems.

You Must Be Able To :

  • Manage time and work under pressure to meet deadlines and priorities
  • Tolerate an outdoor work environment, including: extreme temperature fluctuations such as heat and cold, rain, dust, allergens, poison oak, insects, small wild animals, and sun exposure
  • Perform physically strenuous work assignments on a regular basis, 8 hours a day
  • Stand/walk for extended periods of time, lift and carry 75 lbs., bend, squat, and walk the Garden trails

You Will Definitely Need :

  • Knowledge of California plants and their cultivation preferred
  • Experience with ornamental garden standards
  • Two years of applied work experience in garden maintenance, preferably in a public garden setting
  • Education in Horticulture/Landscape/Ecological Restoration maintenance
  • Experience operating mechanical tools such as tractors/chainsaws/chippers/weed whips
  • A valid California driver’s license (because you will drive a Garden “cart” and drive to offsite locations for work)

Things You Should Know :
