Job Overview:
The tool maker produces, modifies, and repairs tooling, jigs and fixtures used in the manufacturing process to make products.
Responsibilities and Duties Required \n - Manufacture parts, jigs, tooling and fixtures per drawings, sketches, and models.
\n - Perform all tasks in a safe and reasonable manner per Shapes Employee Handbook.
\n - Maintain a clean safe work environment and contributes to Shapes 6S program and Lean concepts.
\n - Maintain cooperative and professional interactions and follows Shapes Code of Ethics.
\n - Complete documentation accurately and scans on/off shop orders correctly.
\n - Utilize and understand operation process sheets and inspects parts per character control sheets.
\n - Notify Supervisor immediately should there be damage, defect, or inability to proceed efficiently.
\n - Work required over-time as needed to support Customer deliveries.
\n - Perform other related duties as required.
\n

Qualifications and Skills Required \n - Must have 15 years of tool and die experience.
\n - Written and verbal communication skills required.
\n - Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
\n - Ability to stay focused, adapt to change positively or negatively, and close attention to detail.
\n - Must have knowledge and understanding of basic math and computer functions.
\n - Ability to read and follow company processes, policies, and procedures.
\n - Ability to multitask, work effectively and efficiently to shop order standards.
\n - Ability to manufacture prototype parts and fixtures to close tolerances using any shop equipment necessary to complete.
\n - Must have knowledge of CNC equipment capability and daily maintenance.
\n - Must have GD&T experience.
\n - Ability to read and understand G-Code and conversational programming.
\n - The ability to use CNC equipment as well as the ability to write programs on demand.
\n - Ability to operate manual mills, lathes, CNC grinders, honing, and line bores.
\n - Must be able to communicate and read English proficiently.
\n - Must be willing to train co-workers in aspects of the shop.

Job, Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Physical Demands: \n - Must be able to lift, move, transport and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times.
\n - Must be in good physical condition and be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for length of shift.
\n - May be required to work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
\n - May be exposed to physical hazards from moving equipment, heavy equipment, and machine parts.

Visual Acuity: \n - Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected.
\n - Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
\n - Ability to read computer screen and documents.
\n

Hearing Ability: \n - Normal hearing or corrected to normal.
\n - Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.

Working Conditions: \n - Factory environment.
\n - Occasional work outside normal business hours.
\n - High noise levels from operating machines.
\n - Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
\n - Breathing fumes, dust, and mist.
\n - Skin exposure to chemicals associated with manufacturing.
