Position : Structural Welder

Company : Large Maritime Manufacturing Company

Location : Kings Bay, Georgia (~30 miles from Jacksonville, FL)

Per Diem / Relocation Bonus:

• Relocation Bonus : Everyone is eligible if not local (more than 100 miles) - this will be paid upfront on their 1st paycheck - $1,500.00
• Per diem (more than 50 miles) – up to $178/day ($22.25/hr ), eligible for 12 months. Portion of PR will be untaxed

Pay Range: $30/HR - $43/HR

Qualifications:

• Active Security Clearance
• OSHA 10 Certification
• At least 2 years of experience welding in a heavy industrial work environment such as ship building, power plant construction, commercial building construction or bridge construction.

Tasks:

• Perform structural welding of deck structures, support braces, foundations, or hangers using one of a number of processes such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) onboard submarines, in buildings and in the field.
• Prepare finished welds by hand grinding or burring to meet visual acceptance standards.
• Set up and operate stud welding equipment as needed onboard submarines and in the shop.
• Install hot work protection and/or build weld containments for fire prevention.
• Perform fire watch duties during welding operations

• National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 51B, 2014 Edition- Standard for Fire Prevention during Welding, Cutting and Other Hot Work.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
