Job Title: Statewide Cybersecurity Coordinator

Location: Augusta, ME

Job Summary:

As the Statewide Cybersecurity Coordinator, you will play a critical role in enhancing the cybersecurity posture of local governments and organizations across the state. You will develop and implement strategies to improve cybersecurity awareness, training, and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cybersecurity Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with state and federal guidelines.
• Outreach and Education: Conduct cybersecurity awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions for local governments and organizations.
• Resource Allocation: Identify and secure funding for cybersecurity initiatives, including grant programs.
• Collaboration: Foster partnerships with federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private sector organizations.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
• Incident Response: Assist in coordinating incident response efforts and post-incident recovery.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or related field
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Preferred:
  • Master's degree in cybersecurity or related field
  • Experience working with state or local government agencies
  • Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA)
